1.     Pour the egg yolks in a large heatproof bowl and set them aside.

2.     Mix the heavy cream, milk, sugar, salt, and instant espresso powder in a medium saucepan. Remove from fire after bringing the mixture to a slow, steady simmer.

3.     The egg yolks should be whisked until they get a smooth texture.

4.     Next, while continuously whisking, trickle in half of the hot coffee cream mixture.

5.     Transfer the egg mix to the medium saucepan containing the remaining coffee cream mixture.

6.     While heating on a medium-low setting, stir the mixture continuously. Allow it to thicken to the point when a spoon can be coated.

7.     Take the mixture off the heat. Pour it into a bowl after passing it through a fine-mesh strainer.

8.     After adding the Kahlua, stir the mixture and leave it aside until it reaches room temperature. On the surface of the mixture, firmly press a sheet of plastic wrap. Let it sit in the refrigerator for four hours.

9.     Transfer it into an ice cream machine and let it freeze.

Note: This ice cream will be soft-serve consistency in 20 to 30 minutes using an electric ice cream maker. Place the ice cream in a freezer-safe container, cover it, and freeze it for a few more hours if you prefer it harder. Remember that your ice cream canister must be frozen overnight to freeze your ice cream effectively.
